In PublicSchools - “From The Outside Looking In”

studentsReading the title of this post makes you think right away right? During my school days, I have been actively participating student organizations that allows me to voice out and hear out opinions of those who need to be heard. I for one can say that it has really been a tough road to walk into. Today, I came across this blog - InPublicSchools.com which tackles a lot of important educational system issues (and most often than not) neglected as each day goes by. Indeed, our student world today has gone from the very meticulous one to being a very careless one. Most people today forget or even push away the thought of being grateful for having education. Yes, we may all be grateful at one point in our lives…but we should not stop there. I am a believer that if you want to have something done, you have to start it yourself. I am proud to say that I have done my part in uplifting my fellow students during the two years time I was in position in the Supreme Student Council and in a national organization. We should not at all be setting our eyes on what we see and be content nor do we have to blind ourselves from what we don’t see. Try to sum it up for once - have you had any complains about the current educational system that we have? What are they? Have you made any actions on it? What could you possibly do about it? What more can you do about it? And take action. Influence people.

I recall quite well a city-wide gathering of student officers from different colleges. One day was just not enough for all of us to count the many things we would want for those on the outside to help us in the most effective and efficient way possible and those on the inside to continue to be vigilant advocates of education. One good fact was that we were all doing what we cant to be leaders in small ways. We were able to somehow make a change to the current system there was in school. I have even reached the point of supplementing teaching in one empty classroom to make up for those who were in much need of further discussions on subjects. We have held tutorial classes spontaneously to aid students on different college levels who were not privileged to have computers to work with at their homes. Financially, we have aided events by scouring on sponsors and advertiser companies. Yes, these are just some of those many actions we’ve taken into duty. And I must say, graduating with a Leadership Award was something I would have traded in for something - the continuous strife to uplift what we have right now and to kindle that in each and everyone inside AND outside.

Little will it serve you, but those generations and generations who are forthcoming are guaranteed to harvest what we ploy today. Have your say in a world full of adversities, make your noise - make a change. Let’s allow ourselves to have what we all deserve as far as education is concerned. Let us open our minds and hearts, as many have done so now - InPublicSchools.com

Our lives and our future success greatly does depend on it.
